About the Role
A Salesforce Administrator is needed to support internal users, enhance the user experience, and maintain data quality across the Salesforce instance. This role will oversee the support, maintenance, and development of core products built on Salesforce NPSP and provide front-line support for a custom Salesforce app.
Key Responsibilities
This role will start with a focus on support and system familiarization before taking full ownership of the following:
- Outreach CRM
- Gift/Donation Processing System
- Service Console/Case Management
- Reports & Dashboards
Salesforce Support
- Serve as the primary contact for Salesforce support requests, troubleshooting issues, and routing requests when necessary
- Monitor system performance and address potential problems proactively
- Manage user onboarding/offboarding and permission adjustments
- Assist teams with reports and dashboards
- Provide training sessions and walkthroughs for staff
- Escalate bugs and major process issues to senior Salesforce team members
- Develop and share documentation to improve Salesforce usage across teams
- Identify areas for improvement and suggest changes
Database Maintenance
- Oversee data quality by implementing monitoring systems to identify and correct problematic data streams or automation errors
- Perform data uploads using tools like DataLoader
- Conduct exploratory data analysis to uncover and resolve data quality issues
- Manage duplicate records in coordination with the fundraising team
- Ensure all data handling aligns with privacy, security, and management standards
Qualifications
The strongest candidates will have 1-3 years of experience as a dedicated Salesforce Administrator, along with prior experience in customer-facing roles. Ideal qualifications include:
- Solid understanding of Salesforce NPSP (Nonprofit Success Pack)
- Familiarity with integrations and tools used alongside NPSP, such as FormAssembly, G-Connector, Zapier, Cirrus, and donation payment platforms
- Experience supporting users at all levels, from entry-level staff to senior leadership
- Background working in a small, collaborative team with a high degree of ownership, preferably in a nonprofitsetting
- Strong knowledge of data integrity and best practices for maintaining data quality
- Proficiency in building reports and dashboards
- Experience training users and developing tutorials
- Ability to create engaging enablement resources such as videos, guides, and documentation
- Strong prioritization skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage deadlines effectively
- Experience using project management tools (e.g., Asana)
