About the Role

This position is responsible for the daily management of Salesforce applications and data. The system is used to track progress, manage relationships, coordinate events, and organize a library of climate-related solutions and resources. Responsibilities include user support, data quality monitoring, training, and documentation. Additionally, this role will assist with data analysis projects, requirement gathering, and minor configuration work.

Key Responsibilities

User Support (25%)

  • Maintain the Salesforce Helpdesk ticketing system.
  • Set up new users and manage permissions.
  • Address system functionality questions, login issues, and troubleshooting requests.
  • Handle data imports, record merges, and deletions.
  • Create reports and dashboards while assisting with other user requests.
  • Encourage user adoption by monitoring engagement and providing necessary support.

Training & Documentation (25%)

  • Lead Salesforce training sessions for new hires.
  • Work with the Business Systems Manager to identify ongoing training needs for staff.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including user guides, tutorials, and recorded training materials.
  • Update training content as system functionality expands.

Data Management & Reporting (20%)

  • Maintain a set of standard reports for internal use.
  • Conduct routine data quality checks, manage duplicate records, and ensure accuracy.
  • Prepare data for Climate Lead’s annual Funders’ Report and other key reporting requirements.

System Architecture and Development (20%)

  • Gather requirements for minor system updates.
  • Implement small configuration changes such as picklist updates, custom report types, lightning page modifications, and validation rules.
  • Support testing efforts for system enhancements.

Other (10%)

  • Contribute to Salesforce project planning and prioritization.

Qualifications

Skills and Knowledge

  • Proficiency in Salesforce administration, including configuration updates, user management, and report/dashboard creation.
  • Ability to develop training materials and recorded video guides.
  • Understanding of nonprofit operations and fundraising processes.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce permissions and data-sharing settings.
  • Familiarity with requirement gathering and software development processes is a plus.
  • Experience leading live training sessions is preferred.

Education & Experience

  • Salesforce Certified Administrator (SCA) required; additional certifications are a plus.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with Salesforce, preferably in an administrator role.
  • Experience with the Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP) required.
  • Previous experience supporting technology at a nonprofit organization.
  • Experience with one or more of the following applications is beneficial: Apsona, Many2Many, Declarative Lookup Roll-up Summaries, Mailchimp, or event management tools.
